On 22 September 2024, the United Nations adopted the Pact for the Future at the Summit of the Future in New York. This once-in-a-generation agreement is a landmark moment, setting the stage for more effective global governance in the face of modern challenges. With a total of 56 actions, the pact addresses critical areas including sustainable development, international peace and security, science, technology, and innovation, as well as the role of youth and future generations. This forward-looking agreement, reached after years of negotiations, reflects the collective commitment of nations to tackle global crises while reforming multilateral systems to meet 21st-century demands.
